First, Memorial Day was so much fun. We saw so many family members we haven't seen in a long time. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, it was still great. The kids loved the mud anyway. It was great to hang out with so much family. We had a lot of love packed into that tiny house. I wonder if anyone got any pictures of us all packed inside. Good times. We must do it all again soon!
Also, just a special thanks to Alan & Chandie and their wonderful truck for hauling our sorry butts out of the mud. I guess when you are living right (on and off the field) magic happens. :0) We really, really appreciate him pulling us out.
Second, I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but after spending the weekend with Dara, McKenna is just slightly obsessed with her. ALL she can talk about is Daraka from America. I'm sure poor Dara is very glad the weekend is over so that she doesn't have to hear that nick name anymore or tote around an extra 40lb appendage. McKenna got to go to build-a-bear for her birthday and when it came time to name the elephant (I know, its build-a-bear, not build-an-elephant...something else McKenna is obsessed with) she didn't even hesitate for a second! So, meet Daraka, the elephant. Dara is her "favoritest cousin ever"! Sorry everyone.
Third, I just have to give a shout out to my amazing sister Lisa and her new Etsy Business. She makes and sells the cutest sock monkeys you've ever seen! So if you are looking for a cute gift, may I suggest visiting her site! Mostly Monkeys
Fourth, I finished "The Host" and want to know what you think?? (Those who have read it)*****SPOILER ALERT!!! *****
*****READ NO FURTHER*****
*****BEWARE*****

(Ok, not really spoiler, but opinion.
I don't want to be responsible for swaying your thoughts before you read it.)

Here's what I thought. I really liked it. Not LOVED, but liked a lot. It was an easy read and enjoyable to get through mostly. What I didn't like was that her main character was very similar to Bella. Always getting herself into trouble, being picked on and needing major attention. And, a group always there to protect and defend her at all cost and treat her like glass...kind of like Bella. I had a little teensy problem with how the ending played out, but overall, I liked it. What did you think??

I loved your post and all the pictures! Now I understand why McKenna's elephant is named Daraka!
Very nice! I read the 'spoiler' and I will read 'The Host'as the next time I'm down to see Lisa. She said I could borrow her book.
Love ya!
Mom :o)
Awww, Michelle! Thanks for the shout out! I agree with everything you said about The Host, even though I didn't have the thought so coherently on my own. My fail english, that's unpossible! Can't wait for Breaking Dawn!!!
I liked The Host. I like books where I don't really have to think sometimes:) It's nice to just sit and read and not think about anything haha:) I didn't really correlate the two characters until i read what you wrote, I can totally understand where you are coming from and now I agree. P.S. thank you for not posting the picture of me:) I appreciate it very much!!!!
Oh you have GOT to be kidding me!!! You seriously changed our hitch cover ~ the awesome UTAH UTES hitch cover and you photoshopped that horrible BYU one on there?!?!?! Ooooooh you are sneaky.... :) See if we ever pull your sorry butts out again!!
;-)
haha that is TOO cute! i love her too! :):) She's adorable! and it was HONOR to tote around an extra 40 lbs all weekend :) it was great seeing you guys! love you!
this was a great weekend. and for what it is worth, Brynlie has been asking when she can play with McKenna again! She loved playing with her, a girl cousin finally!
Thanks for all the pictures. I especially liked the picture of Alan and his truck ;)
I totally agree with you I did not like the ending. ALSO I am afraid that she is going to ruin the final twilight book just by reading that book. I hope not but I can't help but wonder, she is kind of predictable and I don't know about that.
