It's Over!!

As much as I love Soccer and LOVE to watch the girls play, I'm glad it is finally over. This season was particularly busy and we had a hard time getting everyone where they needed to be. So it was a relief today to come home after school and only have one practice to get to. So here is a run down on the season:

McKenna - She had a really fun time this year and loved playing. Of course she loves to twirl around on the field, climb on the goal and hug all her teammates, but she still managed to score quite a few goals as well. Overall, I don't think they won much, but they had fun playing anyway and that's what it's all about. She was sad this morning when it hit her that she wouldn't be having practice anymore. It was a fun season and now we'll rest up and look forward to the Spring season. However, because we wouldn't want to be too bored around here, she has just started two afterschool classes, Cooking Club & Cheerleading. She loves both, but the cooking one is the class she looks forward to the most. She asks us every day if she can cook something. Her most prized possessions are the measuring cups & spoons they gave each of the kids on the first day of class. They are having a cooking competition on the last day and she is already planning what she wants to enter.

Lauren - Her team had a fantastic season. It was Lauren's first year in the higher division and she was only one of two girls out of 14 that hadn't played in this division before. So she had a lot of learning to do but picked it up quick. She loves to play forward and scored several goals. Up until the last two games, I hadn't seen her make any goals. (Chris and I have to switch off because one of us has to coach 1/2 of McKenna's game and then we watch the other half of Lauren's). She scored all her goals on Chris' watch. Finally, the last two games, I got to see her score 3 goals. Her team was undefeated. In all 8 games, they scored a total of 70 goals and their opponants only scored a total of 5 goals against them. Not too shabby. She is bummed the season is over but is looking forward to playing basketball this Winter. She too is taking some after school classes, Polynesian Dance and Cheerleading. She is loving both and is excited to come home and show us what she has learned. She also recently played a song (Tell Me the Stories of Jesus) for the Primary Program in church last week and did great.

I know it's small, but Lauren scored this goal. I finally managed to get one on video!

I've been surfing your site and I love all the personalities that are coming thru from your kids.

Also, I loved your background on your site so I just had to go check it out and have changed mine.
