Fall Break - Day 1

The past 5 days have been UEA (aka Fall Break) here in Utah, so the kids had an unusually long weekend. The nice part was that Tyler only had football practice one of those days. Since we really couldn't go anywhere I decided that we'd at least try and do something fun every day. We had gorgeous weather every day which made it even nicer.

Thursday - After catching up on a TON of laundry and chores, I took the kids to Nielson's Grove Park to play and run around. The kids ran into some friends from school and so each of them except for Brooklynn had a buddy to run around with. They have these giant swings that we played on for a while and then headed over to the pond. The kids had a ball just running around, throwing rocks into the pond (and at the ducks...oops), collecting acorns, and just being kids. There's a little park next to the lake which Brooklynn had fun playing at while I relaxed. It was the nicest day and the kids really had so much fun just playing. It was a weird thing for me because we have gotten to the point where play has to be so structured and planned out. It was nice to just let the kids be kids and make up stuff as they went along. I was also surprised at how long they lasted. We were there for several hours and no one wanted to leave when it was time.
