Hiking the "Y"

Believe it or not, until last weekend, we have never hiked the "Y". We have always wanted to, but never seem to get around to it. It's always, "its too hot, we'll wait til the Fall when it cools down", or "it's too cold, lets wait til the Spring when it warms up". As a result, we've never made it up there. So thanks to Lauren's soccer coach, who climbs it every year with his players as a team, Lauren, Tyler & Chris have finally hiked the "Y". Chris was worried that McKenna wouldn't be able to make it and I was going to a bridal shower and I'm sorry, but there is NO packing Brooklynn up the side of a mountain. They had a lot of fun and I was able to see them at the top of the Y thanks to binoculars and the flash from the camera as a signal. So technically, still only half of us has hiked it so I'd like to try it next year when Brooklynn can come with us. But for now, I have the pictures. The trailheadTyler pointing out the cougar carved into the post

Nice photo op, but....scary drop-off behind

Hangin' out on the "Y"

Happy hikers at the top

Fun! I was thinking that the next time we come (if the weather is right) that it would be fun to go on this very hike! I'm a little scared of that drop off, but, nothing we can't work with:)

How fun! I love hiking and we are just as bad we have never hiked some of the most known hikes here! Was that snow in that pic?

No, that's the actual "Y", it's paint.

Awesome pictures! I'm glad they had a good (and safe!) time.

I've hiked the "Y" three times, though the last time I hiked it, we went mid' July...yah, definitely NOT the time to go! :)

Congratulations! Good job on that hike! I don't know if my knees could make it, but it sure looks like fun!
