I’m trying to find joy in the journey today…..its only 11am.

  • All the kids are home for Christmas break….I can now spend lots of quality time with them.
  • Brooklynn had TWO accidents before 10:30am…She’s very clean, three baths in three hours (The other was because cereal bowls with milk make great hats.)
  • Because she’s had two accidents, my kitchen floor has gotten mopped. Probably wouldn’t have happened normally, but now it has!
  • On bath #3, mommy got distracted on a phone call and let her play instead of just getting washed and taken out. However, pouring large cups of water OUT of the bathtub seemed like a better idea than playing with the toys IN the bathtub. I’ve learned it doesn’t take a lot of water to flood the bathroom floor and the hallway. But, my bathroom floor has now been mopped, the hall floor cleaned, swept & vacuumed. Definitely wouldn’t have gotten done today normally.
  • I have done two additional loads of laundry because of said accidents. Better to get ahead on that then to let it pile up!
  • I braved the cold and snow to sweep off the elderly neighbors car, only to have it snow again all morning. That’s ok, it was a good upper arm work-out.
  • I burnt my finger, inhaled smoke and got a mean headache, but I spent quality time with Tyler as I taught him how fog is made, for his science badge for scouts.
Here's to hoping the 2nd half of the day isn't quite as “joyful”. I’m sure it will be though if we have to drive to Heber for Tyler’s game tonight! Have a joyful day.

So I haven't actually gone to your blog in a while(since I just have you on my google reader, what a cute family pic. I love fall shots. So for the post, you win . . . my day hasn't been near what yours has. Malia just screams all of the time and I can't handle it anymore. But I know as the weeks goes on things will start inraveling with these kids. So to us both, good luck and here's to 14 more. See ya at the other end.

You are such an optimist! I think I might have just cried. =)
Glad to hear things turned out a little better than they started out. =)
Merry Christmas!
