Hippity Hoppity

Happy Easter!
We went to Idaho for the Easter weekend. It was a really nice, relaxing weekend. The weather was beautiful, Jason spoiled us with tons of delicious food and of course there was lots of chocolate and good company.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about this

Saturday morning we went to the Easter Egg hunt in town. Chris took the older kids to their field, Grandpa took McKenna and I took Brooklynn to her little area. I had the camera so the only picture I got was of Brooklynn before. Once the horn sounded she broke down in tears and wouldn't move. I prodded her over to a couple of eggs and she wouldn't even bend down to pick them up, she just stood their crying. She later said, "I was just a little shy". The kids all had fun.

Waiting for the dogs to cook

Then we packed up and headed to the ranch for a BBQ picnic and some fun. The first thing the kids wanted to do was go 4-wheeling. The two older kids can drive by themselves now which makes me a little nervous but they do pretty good.

Mommy and Brooklynn...she kept saying "again, again"

Tyler and Lauren

Chris and Jason also took a bunch of guns and rifles to go shooting. They taught the kids how who then thought they were pretty cool.
Sunday morning the Easter bunny had stopped by before we went to church. Luckily church didn't start until 11am so we were able to get ready and take a few pictures.

The weekend was lots of fun. I should have taken a picture of the golf cart. Those kids probably put 1000 miles on that thing this weekend. Round and round and round the house. They wore a path in the lawn. They were all so happy the snow was gone because they haven't driven it since last Fall. On our last afternoon, Chris' cousin and her kids stopped by for a couple of hours. The kids really enjoyed playing with some new cousins that they hadn't met before. Then we packed up and headed for home. We should have stayed as we came home to rain and two snowstorms!

Loved all the pictures! You have such a beautiful family! Glad to see Darl too. He looked tired but happy! I'm sure he's glad to be retired! Glad the kids had such a great time! They do love the ranch and seeing their Grandpa Darl and Uncle Jason! :o)

How come I'm not cool enough to be on your list of family and friends?? *wink wink* :)

I love that Brooklynn told you later that she was just a little shy, I don't know why, but that just cracks me up. I'm totally missing you, Julie and your families so much right now and spend a lot of time thinking (wistfully of course) about how we spent last Easter with you. Le sigh, give your kids squishy loves from me!

I just clicked on your family picture to get a closer view and wow, and your oldest girl,Lauren (as if you don't know her name :) looks so much like you! What a mother/daughter resemblance (apart from Lauren has a different mouth to yours). Actually, Tyler looks so much like Chris too. Not much 'grandparent genes' in any of your children, they're definitely all clones of you and Chris - very cool!!!!!
