Today was the long-awaited for "Crazy Hair Day". This week is
Red Ribbon Week which is the anti-drug/smoking/alcohol program at our school. They take pledges and learn about the ill-effects of drinking, smoking and doing drugs. Each day they have a dress-up day that kind of goes along with the theme for the day. But crazy hair day is always a favorite! So today was, "Don't be CRAZY - Stay away from Drugs!" Lauren really wanted a mohawk this year but we just couldn't get all that hair to stand up. It'll take me a week to get everything we put in her hair out, but it still wasn't enough to keep it standing tall so we had to go to plan "B". Which was, what can we do with your hair now with 3 pounds of hair goop in it??? We call it the slinky do, because Tyler said it looked like little slinkies.

They also have the U of U bring a display showing the effects of drugs and such on the body. Last year was a set of actual lungs to show the effects of smoking. The kids all thought it was pretty cool. This year, they brought a brain to show the effects of drugs/drinking. I guess it was pretty disgusting. Lauren came home with a stomache ache and a kid in her class threw up, a kid in Tyler's class had to go home because the school thought he might pass out and they all kept telling me how gross this brain was. Hopefully, it will make a lasting impression on all these kids to stay away from that stuff. I saw the lungs last year and kind of wish I could have seen the brains. I wonder what next year will bring. :0)

I'm so glad their hair styles are 'temporary!' Ha! Ha! Ha! Pretty funny looking! :o) I can't believe how much Tyler looks like his Uncle Curt and Uncle Kenny! Wow! :o)
Nice! I think the slinky hair is fun, but I can't believe you didn't bring back the Sanjaya faux-hawk;) How fun that you're willing - and able - to help them with such crazy hair!
I love their hair and their faces...so cute!!! Looks like a lot of work, you must have gotten up super early to get all three of them done!
I would think seeing a brain would be a lasting reminder....
