For our anniversary this year I got tickets to the Hale Center Theater. We had never been and truth be told, didn't care that we hadn't. The building is less than inviting from the outside. But, our sweet neighbor had given us a gift certificate to go see a play and we've had them since last Christmas. Since they were expiring the end of December I thought we'd use them for our anniversary. The current show was "A Christmas Carol" and again, I wasn't all that thrilled nor was Chris when I told him where we were going. But, off we went. Having never been, we were a bit surprised to see the small setting of the theater and wondered how they would pull this off on such a tiny stage. Now, all that being said...I can now say, "HAVE WE BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK FOR 8 YEARS??!!" How can we have not been here before? The show was AWESOME!! I could not believe how enjoyable it was, what great seats we had, the intimacy of the show, the quality of the costumes, the talent of the actors...it was FANTASTIC!! We enjoyed it so much and are planning on going back the end of the month for another show and taking the kids. You should definitely not judge a book by it's cover or in this case, a building by it's facade. If you haven't been, you MUST go! I can't wait for next Christmas so we can take the kids. It's going to have to be a new tradition. Wish I had a picture, but the one on Chris' phone didn't turn out. Anyway, it was a lovely way to spend our anniversary. Oh, and we stopped by HERE on the way there for some yummy goodness.

What fun! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time! :o)
How fun - I love surprises like that! I also love community theaters, there's something neat about local talent being able to show their stuff!
Oh, and Happy Anniversary!
