Happy Happy Birthday Brooklynn Dear...

Brooklynn turned 4 on January 22nd and because she decided to go ice skating for her birthday, we had a "family" party. I knew I couldn't manage myself on the ice, let alone lots of small children. Turns out that was a VERY wise move. I don't think she quite got this though because she kept telling me her party was at the ice skating rink and her friends would be there. I tried to explain they wouldn't and that we were celebrating with family but she still didn't get it. Fortunately, she didn't even mention it when we got to the skating rink that none of her friends were there. Dodged that one. So she woke up early on the morning of her birthday so we could open presents before the kids had to leave for school. That afternoon we took her to lunch.

Thank you Newby Family for the darling hat and cute pink elephant...see if you notice how many times he appears in her birthday pictures. (He's kind of like those Usborne books that hide the little yellow duck on every page.) This was the first gift she opened and was still a little blurry-eyed. (And yes, I realize her bangs need to be cut, but we have decided to grow them out.)

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa and Auntie Kirsten for the cute bracelets.

Thank you Grandma Great for the birthday card & money

Thank you Tyler for the fun Computer...I'm getting so smart I might not get into pre-school. (Thanks a lot Tyler!...from mom)

Thank you Lauren for the Littlest Pet Shop toy and the "Brooklynn Mobile"

Thank you McKenna for the Mermaid Barbie

Thank you Mom & Dad for the pretty dress and headbands

Thank you Roxy for the Barbie video...how did you know?

On Saturday, after a full day of wintery birthday fun, we had the Auntie Julie's over and their families to sing Happy Birthday and celebrate with cake and ice cream. (Julie, Bob, Brynnly, Quintin, Zack, Braxton, Julie, Latu, Moses, Jenna Lee & Mason) For some inexplicable reason, we took exactly two pictures...her blowing out her candles and a gift shot. But she had fun and LOVED all of her gifts. Thank you to the Wards for the fun art easel, to the Lolohea/Maumau bunch for the Tinkerbell toys, music box & jewelry and to Grandpa in Malad for the card and birthday money!
