McKenna's Friend Party

We celebrated McKenna's 7th birthday with a "cooking" party on the last day of school. McKenna loves to cook and help me out in the kitchen, especially baking...I think she really just hopes she can lick the bowl!

So we put together some invitations...which I can't take credit for, I totally swiped the idea from (as well as most of my ideas) my cousin. If we still lived close I'd totally start a party making business with her and another friend of hers. We all LOVE planning parties.
As the girls arrived, they watched Ratatouille and got ready to cook.
First order of business was to make their own pizzas. The girls all really enjoyed rolling out the dough...kinda like playdough I guess. I made them each little rolling pins out of large dowels so things could move along quicker.

While the pizza's were cooking, they watched some more of Ratatouille while I set the table.
After they ate pizza, they decorated their own cupcakes. I was surprised at how conservative they all were. They hardly used any frosting at all. Then we put them all back and sang to McKenna. Then they got to eat them.
After we sang they got to make their own ice cream sundaes. Again, I was pretty surprised at what little toppings they used. I think most of them were full by this point as I don't think anyone finished their ice cream.
After we ate McKenna opened her gifts and then they played until the parents started to come. It was a fun party, especially with this group of girls. They are the best of little friends and are SOOOO silly when they all get together. It was nearly impossible to get a normal picture....they all wanted to be silly.

Wow! I can't believe how old McKenna is! All the girls look so grown up (compared to the 3-4 year that I remember them as)! What an awesome party idea. You're so creative!

What a very cute birthday party. You really should look into becoming a birthday party planner or host!! The pictures and ideas were like something out of a movie or a pottery barn magazine!!!! McKenna is a lucky girl to have a mum like you!
