I'm the Mommy, Thats Why!: Fall Break Festivities

If by festivities you mean hiking, then festivities they were indeed. Last year we went hiking with some friends over Fall Break. We had a fun time and decided to go again this year only we decided that we could take on two hikes. An easier one for moms and kids and then a harder one with the dads. I thought they were both pretty moderate. A good workout but something even Brooklynn could manage. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the colors were breathtaking. We had such a fun time and can't wait to see where next year will take us.

The first day we headed to Pleasant Grove to hike Battle Creek Falls. This was supposed to be a very kid-friendly hike, just over a mile to some pretty falls. We hiked just past the main falls where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we hiked back down to the bottom of the falls where the kids climbed around the rocks and walked around, maybe even behind the falls. They were all soaked so we decided to head back down. Once we got back down to the bottom the rest of the group headed home and I took the kids and went geocaching.

The next hike was up by Sundance in Provo Canyon, Stewert Falls. The morning started off chilly but after a few minutes it was perfect. Again the weather was great and we enjoyed having all the dads there. It was a beautiful hike that ended at some falls where we had lunch and played for a while before heading back home. I don't know why we don't hike more often since the kids love it so much and it is so nice to be outside enjoying nature. Thanks girls for a great weekend!
