Summer Catch-Up

I have really slacked on blogging lately. The kids got out of school June 3rd and most days I can't even use the bathroom without being interrupted, let alone, blog. So here is a real quick update in no particular order.

Other than Scouts and Activity Days, we scheduled absolutely NOTHING this summer! Can you believe it???!!!! Brace yourself, because....I. Didn't. Sign. ANY. Kids. Up. For. Soccer! That's right, no soccer this year or next Spring! No football camps, no tennis, no piano, no swimming, no other sports, nothing, nada, zippo. We bought passes to 7-Peaks/Trafalga and have been spending some free time there. We go to playgroup twice a week for the little girls, but other than that we are just kickin' it at home. It has been SOOOO nice. We have also been spending a lot of time on kitchen improvements. (That's a long story which someday I'll post about) I really can't believe that we are half way through summer though.

The kids pitched tents the day school got out and spent the first two weeks of summer outside until a big rainstorm came and flooded the tents. After I washed everything up I decided that was enough camping for now.

Brooklynn has taken up mowing the lawn. She loves this little push mower that Chris picked up at a yard sale. He says that we'll have the nicest lawn on the block when the world ends and we have no gas for the mower.

McKenna, Roxy and I hiked the "Y" and nobody died. It was a beautiful morning with perfect weather. Apparently we can't take a self portrait though.
(McKenna...in pink in the middle of the picture)

Brooklynn got hold of my camera and took about 100 pictures of random things, all blurry. Because really, who wouldn't want blurry photos of toilets, garbage cans & the inside of the printer, right?

Brooklynn lost another tooth and wrote the tooth fairy a nice little letter. In case you can't read it, it says:
Dear personal tooth fairy. I don't know your name. But just in case if you don't know my name it is Brooklynn. Please sign. Please come to Macey's kid karnival tomorrow. It was my sister McKenna "hoo" knocked out my tooth. I hope you will write back. Love Brooklynn. PS - I got you some tattoos. I hope you like them. (He must have because he left her $2.00)

Everyone still loves the chickens. The girls still carry them around like kittens. The chickens don't seem to mind too much and are very nice and don't bite. A couple have recently started laying eggs and everyone loves looking for eggs!

Lauren got a feather in her hair, because they are all the rage you know. She has also started babysitting and LOVES it.

Tyler - where is he you might ask? Well, mowing a lawn I'm sure. He started a lawn mowing business this summer and is gone all the time taking care of lawns. When he does have any free time he heads to 7 peaks with his friends. And lately, he detests having his picture taken and won't allow it.

So that about wraps up the month of June. More exciting adventures to come in July, stay tuned!

Gotta love those blurry toilet pictures! I also love those little surprises. =)

I can't believe that Lauren is babysitting - and how adorable that she has a feather in her hair...the beginning of so many fun fads, I am sure. =)

And you are such a cool mom for letting them 'camp' out for 2 weeks!
