I'm saving so much, I'm going broke...

or something to that effect. This is what my fabulous father-in-law would say whenever he took my sweet mother-in-law to Costco. It is how I have been feeling about Wal-Mart lately. Last week when I got to Wal-Mart, Brooklynn did that funky pee thing where she sat just right in her carseat and missed the diaper but managed to soak everything she was wearing. So I bundled her in her blanket and headed straight for the children's department to buy a new outfit and then continued my shopping. I noticed later when I put my receipt into Quicken that they hadn't charged me for the shirt. Me being the honest girl that I am took the tag (which was conveniently still lying in the bottom of my diaper bag) and the next time I was at Wal-Mart explained the situation to the cashier and asked her to charge me for it. She looked at me kind of funny and asked me if I was sure I wanted to be charged for it. I said of course, I didn't pay for it. She said ok and scanned the tag. Well, when I got home and put the receipt into Quicken, I noticed the cashier scanned it twice! In the end I paid twice for a shirt I had originally gotten for free. This is where being honest gets me? Thankfully, the shirt was only $2.96.

That's so funny and we feel ya. We sometimes will justify buying random things just cuz we're Walmart shoppers. I'm really not sure how much we end up "saving" :)

How funny! They say honesty pays but I'm thinking it paid Walmart in your case!! Love you all.

this is such a funny story! you are a better person than i am - i probably would have gone in and made a fuss that they charged me twice and that i already had to come back once because of their negligence and demanded i get it for free in the end. =)
