The fruits of my labors
So summer is here and that means canning! My sister asked if I wanted to do any canning this year and I said Absolutely Not! I'm working on my house this summer. Besides, I didn't put a garden in for the same reasons so I won't have much to can anyway. I told Chris, "I'm NOT canning this summer, I just have too much to do inside." So when my sister called on Monday, she said, "I know you said you didn't want to can, but I was wondering if you really meant that because I was going to go pick apricots today at my neighbors, do you want any?" Had she said any other fruit I probably would have said no, but apricots are my sweet spot and I couldn't resist. When Chris came home and saw a big basket of apricots on the back porch, he said, "So, I thought you weren't canning this summer." I know, I know, I'm weak, but Apricots are my favorite. So yesterday, my sister and I canned about 50 jars of jam. There is nothing prettier than the finished product sitting there sparkling on your shelf.

That looks delicious! Does your sisters neighbor want anyone else to come and get apricots? I finished that book. Loved it. Really. Toads beetles bats.
Oh what wonderful daughters I have! :o) Maybe you could go to Julie's to can at her house. But then I just realized, you have the pool and the trampoline! Never mind! That jam looks oh so delicious! :o) I'm waiting for peaches to come out so I can do a few jars of peach jam. Hmmm. It's a toss up if that will happen as your two brothers are getting married in August 3 weeks apart, just about the time peaches come on.
Love ya!
Mom :o)
Oh how fun! I LOVE canning, mostly because the jars look so pretty all lined up. And the sound of the lids popping is so soothing...the jam looks delicious! You'll have to bring some to the next get together so we can all taste the results!
