Oh Blessed Pioneers
So, unless you live in Utah, Thursday was most likely NOT a holiday for you. Ha ha. Just kidding. The 24th of July, Pioneer Day, is a state holiday and ranks right up there with the 4th of July around here. I feel kind of bad though, we didn't really do anything to celebrate our pioneers. We did watch a little bit (very little) of the Day's of 47 Parade, but other than that...it was all about baseball. We started off the day by heading over to the park where Chris taught the kids, mostly Tyler, about the rules of Baseball & Softball and practiced pitching, hitting and explaining plays. We then came home and watched the Sandlot (a movie about baseball). After having a yummy BBQ we headed over to a baseball game with my sister and her family. It was so blazing hot for the first half. The second half was pretty nice though. We had a fun time even though we lost. After the game we stayed and watched the fireworks show which was really impressive, short, but pretty good. It was a great summer day. Sadly, I left my camera at home and have no pictures to show for it. So I snagged this one off the baseball team's webpage. Just picture us in there having fun.
