Miracles DO happen

Brooklynn decided that the day she turned 18 months, nursery was NOT an option. (We snuck her into a few nurseries while we were on vacation a few months before she was supposed to go. Then we had two "practice" visits that went extremely well. Then things went South.) We patiently went with her and after a while she went and stayed on her own for maybe 6 months or so. I don't know what happened, but she then refused again to go. This went on for most of 2008 and most of January. Finally I couldn't take it any more and told the nursery leader that we had to let her scream it out. She reluctantly agreed and we set the date for this past Sunday. Well miracles of all miracles she decided to go by herself and stayed the WHOLE TIME!!! I don't know if it the fact that we told her she was 3 now and had to go (hasn't worked with the potty training) or bribing her with painting AND baking cookies after church, or the promise of ballet class if she goes all the time, but something worked!! One week down, 48 more to go!Here she is making her cookies

Ah the sweet power of bribery. I don't know where I'd be without it, my only quiet time these days is bought with c.a.n.d.y. I'm not proud of it, but boy do I enjoy the peace and quiet. Good luck with the next 48!

Best of luck to the next 48 hopefully they will go as smooth as this week. I wish things would go smooth for kelsie and jaron in primary.
