Happy Birthday Lauren

I know this post is nearly a week overdue, but I have been pretty busy lately and haven't had time to post. Lauren turned 9 last week. I can't believe how fast the time flies. It seriously feels like she just got baptized and here she is 9 already. She is really growing up and isn't a little girl anymore. She thinks she's pretty grown up and thinks she's a teenager already. We love Lauren very much and are so glad she is in our family.

Thank you to everyone who made her birthday special. She was really spoiled this year. She got some really unique and fun gifts for her birthday from some really talented family members. I was really impressed with their creativity. We got her a Toys R Us gift card, a DVD and MP3 player....oooh, aren't we creative. She also received a Butterfly Garden Kit (thanks McKenzie T.) which I'm not sure whose more excited Lauren or Chris and I.

My sister Lisa made her an adorable sketchbook for her:

My niece Pene made her a darling "Fairy Garden":
My sister Julie gave her a "sewing lesson" and took her for 3 hours and taught her the basics of sewing and made a cute apron with her:How cool is my family??

She celebrated this year by having her party at a roller skating rink. I admit this was not something I would have chosen simply because I LOVE throwing parties. However, it was at a busy time and so it was nice that it was by far the easiest party we have ever done.
Invitation
I wish I had more time to make a nice cake but it just wasn't meant to be.
Lauren pretending to blow out the candle that wouldn't stay on the cupcake and we didn't think they'd let us light it anyway.

I forgot to take a picture of the goodie bags but here's what was in them: Glow stick, peace keyring, flower necklace, pop rocks, pixie sticks, ring pops, mouth paint bubble gum, flower eraser & gum tape.

Oh, doesn't this bring back some memories...anyway, I tried to find videos that had all the kids skating. I'm really impressed that they all tried so hard and didn't give up. They love skating and can't wait to go again. Even little Brooklynn gets out there.

What a darling party! Wish I could have been there. Cute video and cute kids. I can't believe she's 9!!! It doesn't surprise me that even with limited time you pulled off such an amazing and cute party, invitations, cupcakes, etc.

Brooklynn is the cutest little roller skater I've ever seen! What a fun party, my birthday is in a couple weeks and it makes me want to have a skating party of my own. Although, I think about half of the ladies I would invite are pregnant right now... might not work out, shoot, oh to be nine again.

How fun! I can't believe she's 9 either! What fun gifts - so creative. She is such a loved little girl.

So, I've been catching up on blogs and I have so many comments for you, but not enough time! =) I can't believe how beautiful McKenna's hair was on Easter! I'm in awe. =) Also, seeing your pictures of Malad made me just ache for it, and to get to see Grandpa. How fun that you went and spent the day up there.

Oh, and so glad your ear is better - what a frustration! I'm sure you are very grateful for small things - like being able to hear these days!
