Tyler finally graduated from Cub Scouts on Tuesday night. He had a rough last year as his entire Webelos year he didn't have a leader really. Also, as the only Webelo, he didn't have any other boys to work with so we worked on it as a family for the whole year. But he worked hard and got everything done. His Cub Master leaders did a nice job putting together a nice Arrow of Light ceremony for him. Afterwards, they had a BBQ and pool party. It was a nice evening. We are very proud of Tyler and his committment to the Scouting Program. He has already been attending his new Scout Troop and LOVES it. Scouting is a wonderful program.
Tyler's leaders put together a little presentation. They told a story about some magic water and that if an item was dipped in the magic water and lit on fire, but NOT consumed by the fire, they were prepared for whatever they were to face. So instead of lighting Tyler on fire, they took his neckerchief, soaked it in the "magic water" and lit it on fire. If it caught fire but didn't burn, he had done all he needed to do to and was now prepared to become a boy scout. The boys were pretty impressed.
Here he is crossing from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.

Wow. That is so nice and congratulations to Tyler! He's such a great young man.
Way to go Tyler, I'm glad they didn't dip him in the magic water to do the burn test, the neckerchief sounds exciting enough to me:) And by the by, that's one handsome kid you've got there!

When I took a closer look at the one picture with the beautiful mountain, in that opening where you are standing by the table with Tyler, you can see the temple! That picture is a gorgeous landscape shot!:o) That plaque is also impressive. Someone went ot a lot of work!:o)
