Summer's coming to a close...

...so here's what we've been up to for the past bit.

Tyler has been working really hard to finish up his requirements for his Webelos rank and Arrow of Light. He attended Cub Scout Day camp and Webelos Day camp and had fun at both. He was able to visit the 11-yr old Scout program and is SO excited to start. We went to the Scout office the other day and picked up his new uniform, thanks in part to Grandma and Grandpa Guptill, and he loves it. He can't wait to wear it. He earned his Webelos rank at his last pack meeting along with several other activity badges, belt loops and awards. He'll receive his Arrow of Light at this month's pack meeting.

Tyler also attended a football camp for a week the end of July and had a lot of fun. It really got him excited for football to start. He has already got all his equipment and will meet the rest of his team on Saturday. We can't wait for the season to begin.
(He's getting ready to catch the ball, in the center with white shirt/black shorts w/red trim)

(Trying to get free to pass for the touchdown..to the other kid w/white shirt & black shorts.)

(Amazing one-handed catch here.)

(I can't remember if he is catching or throwing here.)

I got tired of doing the girls hair everyday so we spent an evening watching Coraline and I braided their hair. It's been just over a week and I'm trying to milk it a little longer. It has been nice not having to comb it out everyday and make it look nice.

Our garden is finally starting to produce. I made a salad the other day with everything grown from our garden. The kids have been good to keep up on the weeding and if the weather ever stays warm enough, more might start to ripen. I am hoping I can bottle quite a few tomatoes this year. I did make Rhubarb-Strawberry jam the other day which was really good.
(I can't seem to get this picture to upload correctly)

Roxy continues to grow like a week and looks nothing like when we first brought her home. She is overall a pretty good puppy, but I still long for the days when we'll be past potty training.
June...8 weeks

July...12 weeks

That's about it. I'm ready for school to start. We have finished all our school shopping and are ready to roll. I made the kids start going to bed early this week and waking up early to practice, so come next week they'll be ready with fewer tears and headaches.

I am so proud of your garden, I would love to plant one myself. I think I should make it a goal for next year
