New Years 2010
After spending a few days in Washington, we headed towards home. It was a long day and the trip home is always worse. It was snowing when we left and that slowed us considerably. We had a few unplanned stops and in the end, instead of taking about 13-14 hours to get to Malad, Idaho, it took 18 1/2. In case you are wondering, that's a long time in the car with 4 kids and a LOT of Barbie movies! We managed to make it into Malad around 1am. We stayed with Grandpa and Jason to spend New Years with them. I know we had a lot of fun, but for some reason the only pictures I took were of the kids Hooky Bobbing. If you don't know what that is, follow the link. I know it looks dangerous but for some reason, nothing is ever dangerous in Malad and I always let Grandpa talk me into letting the kids do things I'd NEVER do at home! (Like Zingers for breakfast, lunch and dinner, tons of soda, late nights and lots of root beer floats. Maybe that's why they like Malad so much. Grandpa makes all the rules!) He taught the kids how to hooky bob last year and now they want to go all the time. Brooklynn wanted to try but she is still too short.

Thanks for the education - I had no idea that's what it was called!
I'm sure Darl was very careful and the kids had a blast! However...being a parent and grandparent...the driver of the vehicle cannot see the back end of the truck unless he has an inside camera of what's going on (like in David and Angela's Prius). My first thought is 'horror and that's totally unsafe'! I know if you kids had a chance to do that when you were young you'd be thrilled! Me, not so much. ♥
