Today I accompanied Lauren and the 4th grade to Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum. Fourth graders are a lot easier to chaperon than Pre-Schoolers because they pretty much can do their own thing. However, before we were allowed into the museum, one of the employees gave us a little instructional speech. One of things she mentioned was that most of the problems that occur, happen when the moms who are supposed to be chaperoning leave their kids unattended and sit chatting with one another. So while I wasn't worried about really losing anyone, I did feel a tad guilty if I talked too much. As luck would have it, I did lose one of my kids. And Lauren was quick to remind me in her not so quiet voice in a not so discreet way on more than one occasion that I did the very thing I was told NOT to do at the beginning. "Mom, you lost Mary because you were TALKING!" For the record, she ran away, because our group was boring. For the rest of the day she was grumpy because I made her stay with the group and do some of the things the other kids wanted to do too. I think she hates me. In the end, I think most of us had a good time and I didn't lose anyone permanently.

I'm glad you both had a good time! Just remember when Lauren in going through those lovely teen years and mom doesn't use her 'quiet voice' to tell Lauren something she did that was so cute when she was growing up!....Hee, hee! :o)
That Lauren doesn't let you get away with anything, does she:)
Jordan and I sometimes think about when we were all coming back from Julie and Bobs wedding and you got pulled over "I TOLD you to slow down DAD!" Mostly because now LaRue has taken to telling us the speed limit whenever we're out and about.
LaRue has a field trip to the zoo coming up and I want to go to make sure she's safe, but I also don't want to be put in charge of any of the other kids. Kindergarteners are short, and quick, and hard to keep track of in a crowd. Maybe I'll just go with them by myself and spy, is that too creepy?
I like the photo of you and Lauren on the bus, very nice smiles of mum and daughter together!
and of course I meant BY the museum, not MY...sorry, I hate making typos!
