A Day in the Life...

...of a Fourth Grader.

In case you didn't know, it is generally filled with WAY too much D.R.A.M.A.!!! Sheesh! But, today, you get Lauren's version. Every night at dinner Chris goes around the table and asks each child how their day was and what they learned. Usually it is pretty much the same, nothing too exciting. Lauren decided that she was tired of the boring answers and "took notes" on how her day was today. I thought it was funny and thought she'd enjoy reading it years down the road.Tuesday, April 13th, 2010 -

How my day went.
At 9:10 we did daily math.
At 9:20 Miriam gave me an invitation to her party.
At 9:30 I started writing this.
At 9:35 we started correcting daily math. First Allie corrects 2 then Jasper corrects the other 2 and Ms. Richins corrects 1 and talks about grades. Very boring. Why do we even need to do pre-math (daily math). Oh, here comes geometry. blah blah blah square blah blah blah 3-D shapes, scalene, right, and isosceles. Rhombus, square, rectangle, trapezoid, and parallelogram. Oh no, duck, here comes vocabulary like congruent and symmetrical.
Oh yea, the lights are off!
Now a math packet at 10:05.
Now at 10:15 Ms. Richins is still explaining.
10:20 still explaining.
Finally she is done explaining. "Wait" I need to do more explaining.
At 10:35 I finished it only took me 15 minutes.
Who knows what's next. Oh now reading, oh joy.
Now reading packets.
Yes, almost time for me and Jasper to work at being lunch workers.
Only 20 minutes.
15 minutes and still working on packet.
10 more minutes.
1 more minute!
Yes, let's go!
After lunch recess we did daily language then did root top picture then did read aloud at 1:05.
Then we had 2nd recess and me, Jessica, and Brynlee A. went to Mrs. Headman's class to help with PE.
Then at 5 minutes till 2 we started singing our pioneer songs.
Yes, our PE. No, we are doing square dancing dang-it. Austin is my partner. I had to kick Austin 30 times and Tyler 10 times by Brynlee A.
So now we are going to computers. Yes! I love computers. We are here lined up shoulder to the wall. We went in.
Oh, I just remembered Ms. Richens didn't leave or barf or cough to death!
Now we talk about Marines.
Finally Mavis Beacon teaches typing. It is a website.
We are done and I am leaving. Bye!
Oh, I almost forgot. I helped Mrs. Lewis for 10 minutes then got to the car and met Roxy!

(Thanks to Pene for the picture. I hope you don't mind that I snagged this one and cropped Lauren out.)

Oh my gosh, this makes me laugh really hard and reminds me of how much I miss Lauren!

Oh, I just remembered Ms. Richens didn't leave or barf or cough to death!

So, a good day for Ms. Richens then?
I think Lauren should guest blog for you now and then, a weekly segment maybe? Just sayin.

I totally agree with Lisa! I love your blogs and how fun they are! Having Lauren guest blog or any of the kids for that matter would be seeing the world through their eyes! How fun! ♥

I'm dying! But not by barfing or coughing - just laughing to death!
That's so funny that she took notes so diligently. I just imagine her with a pen & notebook, dedicated to the details! "Lined up shoulder to the wall" and scribbling away for her end-of-day account!
But poor Austin, 30 kicks, ouch! Go easy on those boys Lauren!
