Spring is in the Air...

Last week was Spring Break here. The week started out miserable. We had snow through Wednesday and then it finally started to get nicer. The kids had wanted to camp outside all week and they weren't about to let a little snow stop them. We had to bring out every blanket we owned to keep them warm enough. I tried to discourage them but them were determined.

We tried to do a few things to keep the kids busy since we couldn't go anywhere. On Wednesday we went roller skating. The kids love skating. I opted out this time around. Brooklynn and McKenna kept going back and forth from skating to riding their scooters. Here's Brooklynn on her scooter:
On Thursday we went swimming at the rec. center. That got everyone excited for summer and more swimming. On Friday we hiked the "Y". We had all done it before except for Brooklynn. I was really proud of her though, she made it all the way up all by herself with minimal whining. It isn't an easy hike either, AND, she did it with a blister from roller skating. The hike was definitely easier this time around but I was still a nervous wreck. Too steep and too much loose gravel. I kept worrying someone would tumble down the "Y".
Just getting started
Stopping for lunch at the top...this is where I worried they would fall to certain death.
Saturday morning we were able to take off for the weekend in Malad. We just relaxed and the let the kids run wild. We played around up at the ranch and the kids hiked up the hillside, played in the creek, climbed trees and chased Roxy all over. They were all in heaven.

You are amazing! You take a crummy weather spring break and make it wonderful! This looks like so much fun.
