Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Not really...didn't see any lions or bears (they're at the Oregon Zoo at a new Bear exhibit), just Tigers. I got to go with McKenna and the first graders to the zoo earlier this week. It was a beautiful day, bright and sunny with a crisp breeze to keep you cool. It's a good thing we went on Monday because the rest of the week got confused and it has been snowing! I forget how fast and hungry first graders are. My friend Kelly and I had our groups together so we had 9 kids. I felt like we spent the whole time counting to make sure we had them all and counting down the minutes to lunch. Everyone was pretty excited to see the new baby elephant which was pretty cute. I didn't take many pictures, it was too hard keeping them all in one place.
McKenna on the artsy, metal elephant. This elephant makes noises...snoring I think...it nearly scared her to DEATH! I think it is motion activated and as soon as she ran around the corner to hop on, it roared or snored or something and she bolted! It was pretty funny. It took a bit of convincing to get her to go back and sit on it.

McKenna and one of her best friends Katelin, and a boy from school, Elijah.

Here is our group of kids being silly. It was impossible to get them all looking and smiling so we opted for this instead!

I'm glad I got to go and spend the day with McKenna, we had a great time. Thank you Heather for watching Brooklynn so I could go!
