This and That

The year is just zooming by in full speed. I can't believe May is nearly half over. It seems like it just started! The kids only have two and a half weeks left of school. They are soooo excited. I have mixed feelings. I am looking forward to the break but I only need a few weeks off and then I'd be ready for them to start up again. Here's a quick run down on what's been going on.

Tyler had a Court of Honor where he received 3 more merit badges and was officially promoted to Sr. Patrol Leader (he'd been doing it for a while). He is very close to getting is 2nd class so hopefully next time. He won a sleeping bag for having the 2nd most points. They earn points for bringing their books, backpacks, uniform, being on time, earning merit badges, etc.
Last weekend Tyler and Chris went on the annual Father and Son camp out. They had a nice time together and enjoyed fairly decent weather. By that I mean it didn't snow. They woke up early the next morning and headed home for Tyler to go on his 5 mile hike with his Boy Scout Troop.
Roxy celebrated her first birthday complete with dog food cake and candle. We bought her some chew toys which she promptly ate so we had to give the rest of them to the neighbor dogs. We took her to the vet for a check-up which was not so fun. She did NOT like the vet. She weighed in at 84 pounds! I didn't think she looked that big, to me she seems medium sized. Everyone says she's big so I guess they're. We have finally got her transitioned to being an outside dog all the time. We have only recently gotten her to stay in her kennel but she still manages to find EVERY weak link in the fence. This was the best picture I could get from her birthday. She was too busy running all around and wouldn't hold still.

When she isn't eating and chewing everything in site, she enjoys sun bathing.

The first week of May was teacher appreciation week at school. Since I'm the room mom in Lauren's class we had to decorate the door for the teacher and arrange daily treats for her. On Friday I went in and read to the kids so the teacher could go to the luncheon the PTA puts on for the teachers. I found these cute ideas on another blog and made them up for the kids teachers.
