N.O.V.A.

This past week Tyler graduated from the N.O.V.A. program at school. This is a 14 week program that the school and police department sponsor for all 6th graders. Up until this year, I had no idea what it even was.

The mission of N.O.V.A. Principles is: "Nurturing youth to seek out positive Opportunities, internalize good Values, and to accept Accountability for their choices in life. N.O.V.A. assists parents, families, and communities in protecting youth from the potentially devastating effects of illegal drugs, violence, and negative media exposure."

I have been so impressed with the program and I'm glad Tyler got to participate. I hope that he will remember the things he has learned as he faces tough choices in the future. Chris and I both had cameras but Chris took only video and I accidentally snapped the picture just before he walked across to get his certificate and then it took a minute to get ready again and by then he was gone. So the above picture was the best I could get.
