Well, they didn't disappoint. It was a really great show. And these guys really joust around the world. Not just for entertainment. I can't remember the long list of awards the main guy has won, but it was a lot.

The jousting...it was pretty cool. Unless you were the 2nd grader who was nearly harpooned by flying debris! After the show, the rest of the school was sent back to class while the 6th graders got a special show just for them. Then they headed over to man their booths for the Fair. The kids (and parents) did an amazing job putting it all together. Each student had a profession and had to make a costume and make/bring something to sell or pretend to act out that profession. They had bakers, food booths, jesters, fortune tellers, an apothecary, magic tricks, monks, guards, the royal court...everything. They all did such a great job. After they were all set up the rest of the school got to come back out and walk through the booths and buy things. Each student got some fake money to spend.
Tyler was a guard and had to walk around making sure there was order. If anyone stole anything they were taken to the stockade and locked up. You can only imagine that Tyler took his job quite seriously!

Tyler's Class (he's in the bottom right corner with the crossbow)
The monks looking so very excited to be there. They did end up running around begging "alms for the poor" to collect money. They seemed to have more fun doing that. After the festival the rest of the school went back to class and all the 6th graders headed inside for a huge feast. There was a ton of food and the kids all had to eat with their hands just like in medieval times. I forgot my camera in the car so I didn't get any pictures of the feast. The boys tried to see who could eat the most and one boy almost barfed. Yuck.
The whole day was a ton of work but so worth it. I think the kids had such a good time and learned so much. I know I had fun being there and helping out. I have loved the 6th grade curriculum this year and LOVED Tyler's teacher. She is so passionate about everything they study you can't help but love to learn.

Wow, what an incredible day for those kids, how fun!
So were you a little bit nervous watching the cantaloupe getting sliced in half? You don't even have to have my superhuman powers of worst case scenario imaginabilty for this one:)
Wow! That is the most elaborate Medieval festival I have ever seen! Good for them and so much fun.
