It's A Bug's Life
Tyler and the family spent a lot of time over the past couple of months collecting bugs! He had a project for science that required him to put together a collection of 10 bugs from different families. I have to say that once you get started, it's kind of addicting. We even had friends and neighbors bringing us bugs. The whole family helped out and we had more bugs than we needed which was good because we lost quite a few. It's a trickier process than one might think as you have to have a pretty good system of catching, freezing, thawing and pinning so they aren't too alive, too old, too brittle, too smelly, etc. You lost points if the bug was missing any legs, wings or antenna's. Tyler worked really hard and without Auntie Julie Ward's expertise we would have had a MUCH harder time. Tyler got an A+ on the project that was as much hers as it was Tyler's. THANK YOU!! I now know a lot more about bugs than I did two months ago!

Wow! A huge round of applause for being brave enough to touch them at all ;-)
