Ok, not me exactly, but Tyler.
This year was the dream year for Tyler and the Orem Middleweight Football Team.
This year was the dream year for Tyler and the Orem Middleweight Football Team.
The stars aligned perfectly and the combination of stellar talent and awesome coaching made for a magical season. They were undefeated the entire season and dominated everyone on the field. They had 380-82 points on the season, 10-0! I can honestly say that this team was by far the best in the league and I'm not just being biased. In the four years Tyler has played they have never trained, practiced, conditioned, or worked harder. They were focused and disciplined and they executed what they learned almost perfectly. If it weren't for a league "Mercy Rule" these boys would have decimated every team they played. All but one game we had to play under the mercy rule which basically means that once we are up by 30 points the losing team gets the ball until they score, then we can play offense again. It was a fun year to say the least. Not to mention the weather was so nice for all but 1 game. We had so much fun watching all the games and are rather sad that it has come to an end. Tyler is looking forward to the Turkey Bowl on Thursday because it is his last chance to play football until next season.
A little history on the title of this post. This is from an inspiring video that the coaches had the boys watch and adopted as their motto so to speak. You can view it here: I am a ChampionThis is a highlight video put together by one of the parents of Tyler's teammates. Because their son was on offense, it is mostly all offense and Tyler played defense so he's not on there. However, it is still a great video. It is a little small on here so it can also be viewed on Facebook (hopefully) by clicking HERE.

Pretty awesome team! Pretty awesome coaches too! Great little video too! I hope next year they'll have the same coaches and most of the same boys. I'm sure the high schools must be scouting the upcoming talent! :o)
That's so great, way to go Tyler! I'm glad it was such a fun and positive season for everybody! I wish I could be there to cheer along too, maybe someday. Have fun at the Turkey Bowl!
