Merry St. Patricks Day

I wish I could link to my niece's blog and her last post, but it's private. It was hilarious. All the cute things she would be doing with her family for St. Patrick's Day, NOT! If you follow any crafty blogs, you know what I mean. Seriously, it's like Christmas with all the things you could do. The crafts, food, clothes, cards, decorations, teachers gifts, friend gifts, parties....the list goes on and on and on. Now, I like to celebrate a holiday just as much as the next person, but some people have WAY too much time on their hands.

We started the morning out with a completely balanced breakfast of Krispy Kreme Shamrock donuts and green milk. (FYI - a donut in each hand constitutes balanced in my book.)
So a little disheveled here but we were in a hurry and nobody wanted to look at the camera at the same time. This is as good as it gets folks.

The kids, er the girls, were excited to wear green. Tyler opted for a green silicone band and called it good. I think he wanted to be pinched!
Last year we started a new tradition, a "GREEN" dinner. A few years ago we had a more traditional dinner, Corned Beef and Cabbage and all the fixin's. But, let's be honest, it smells like dirty socks. There just isn't any way around that. So I have transitioned to a more kid-friendly "Green Dinner". This year we had a green salad with green goddess dressing, green beans, green kiwi-watermelon juice, green dinner rolls, tortellini with "green" alfredo sauce, and mint chocolate chip ice cream and shamrock sugar cookies for dessert. Oh, and please disregard the white napkins and mismatched plates. Apparently, the Dollar Tree doesn't carry green paper products. Which is really ridiculous since their store color is GREEN!?! And no, they weren't just out, they don't stock it. The cashier was baffled by this as well. So since I had already been to three stores, I was left to settle with the white napkins and plates I already had.

Oh, and I promise I had my green shirt on too. It said, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish". However, I have been sick all week and haven't put on any make-up and look horrible. So those pictures will NOT be making an appearance here. So, another St. Patty's day down and all my little leprechauns are fast asleep.

You are so right about crafty blogs making like St. Patricks Day is Christmas! Seriously? You're hand making special boutenniers for your first grade son to give to all his class mates, for St. Patricks Day?!?
I didn't do a single fun, green thing - not in protest or anything, just lazy, so I'm quite impressed with your dinner.
Maybe next year... but probably not.

By the way, I'm absolutely sure I misspelled boutenniers, I should have looked it up so I could correct it, but again - I'm lazy!

I LOVE your green dinner idea! I think I might copy that next year! :)
