So Saturday morning we headed up to Malad. The weather was really beautiful and the kids have been asking to go hiking to the big "M" there forever. In a moment of weakness Chris agreed to take them. What's more is Chris even volunteered to take along Roxy and the kids by himself. I thought I'd go along too since I definitely could use the exercise. Since Roxy gets carsick and can drool buckets while in the car, we improvised since we didn't have her in her crate. I took it off after a few minutes because I worried she'd drown in her own drool. Just kidding.

The "M"...similar to the "Y" only harder. It's harder than it looks, I promise. It's straight up and no groomed trails.

About half way up we stopped off at Copper Cave to explore and get drinks.

Starting the next leg of our journey, heading to the "M".

The kids made it to the top with no major problems. Chris and I, called and asked if Dad couldn't send life flight. We were actually pretty worried about the trip down because it was so steep and mostly loose rock. We weren't sure we'd get the little girls down safely. Luckily, on the backside of the mountain was a better trail.

There were lots of beautiful flowers and bushes along the way.

Some cactus

Lauren picked a bunch of wildflowers to leave on Grandma's grave.

A cute shot of Chris and Brooklynn walking down the trail.

We all made it down safe and nobody got hurt. A success! The rest of the weekend we spent with family, tons of yummy food, a great Memorial Day program at the cemetery, some four-wheeling in the rain, mud and hail, shooting and just hangin' out. Sadly, I never pulled out the camera again after the hike. Hopefully someone will have a picture or two I can steal later.
