Labor Day 2011

We usually go to Idaho for Labor day because it's a long weekend and it usually coincides with Chris' birthday which is on the 3rd. This year we were the only ones there so it was kind of quiet and low-key. We just hung out, watched TV and played at the ranch. We celebrated Chris' birthday with some cake and ice cream while we were there. I had hoped to get some reading done but we ended up watching these sappy romance/western type movies and there are like 10 of them. Seriously, we were all addicted....except for Chris. The kids and I stayed up one night until 3am watching them. So much for reading. Anyway, we didn't do much and when we went to the ranch, both 4-wheelers had flat tires and we were too lazy to go into town and fix them. So we did the next best thing, rode the tractor. Grandpa took all the kids around on the tractor and even got Chris and I to take a spin. It was fun, but I sure wouldn't want to have to plow a bajillion acres on it. The kids all took turns driving the golf cart around chasing the tractor, chasing each other, chasing roxy. I tried to sneak in some reading but didn't get very far. It was a nice weekend away and then back to the grind.

What fun! Again, that will forever be a special place for the kids and also in their hearts and memories! ♥
