January Catch-Up

So this blogging slump I've been in seems to be more than just a slump. I attribute it to the fact that I really don't take pictures of anything anymore. I know I'm going to hate myself for this later. Life is good and lots of fun things have been happening, I just don't have very many pictures to document it. Here are a few from this month though.

Over Christmas break my friend Heather and I took our girls to a new jumping place here in town. The owners kids go to our school so they gave all the students free passes. Afterwards we headed to Chuck E. Cheese to grab a bite to eat and play. Sadly, I only got one picture and none of them look overly thrilled to be there. They had fun though, I promise.

We also ventured out to the Provo Beach Resort for a ride on their indoor Merry-go-round. Lauren went to her friend Drew's birthday party a couple of weeks ago. They picked all the girls up in a limo and then drove them to a cute cupcake shop for dessert and then to the mall for a scavenger hunt. It was my friend Cressent's daughter so I got to go too and help corral girls but due to some juggling of kids activities I had to pass on the limo ride. Lauren refused to let me leave the house to take pictures so this was the best I got from the front porch.
Lucky for me though, Cressent sent me a couple of pictures.

McKenna started playing basketball this year. I am really proud of her because she didn't know a thing about basketball but has given it her all. She is excited to go to practice and looks forward to her games. She has been pretty aggressive and just jumped right in and really tried hard. She has even scored a few baskets. It has been pretty funny to watch because for most of these girls this is their first time playing. Apparently "dribbling" is optional at this age!
McKenna is just to the right of #15 about to shoot (green/blue ball)

McKenna is against the wall about to throw it in

Kind of blurry but she is kind of by herself, hands up to the right of the basket.

Again, just about to shoot during warm-up drills, just to the right of the ref (green ball)

Brooklynn started a little ballet class at the first of the month. For Christmas, we gave her gymnastic clothes and a note saying she was going to start gymnastics after Christmas. Every time we drove past the Little Gym she would tell me how much she loved taking gymnastics there with her cousin Zack and could she start again. Well, since she had actually never taken gymnastics with Zack, it was just a "bring a friend day", I thought she'd love it. However, later in the evening on Christmas day she asked if she had to take gymnastics. When I asked her why, she told me she really would rather take ballet. So we took back the gymnastics clothes and exchanged them for ballet stuff. Luckily I was able to find a class for her. She has loved going and we are excited for her end of class recital next month.

We FINALLY got some snow around here! This has been the driest and warmest winter we have had in the past ten years. Brooklynn was so excited to get her snow clothes on and go play outside. There wasn't much snow but she managed to throw snowballs at Roxy and build this cute little snowman.

Later that night it snowed some more. Tyler decided that he wanted to build a snowboarding ramp.
It's blurry, I know, but you get the idea. Can't find the video we took.
