The kids had their annual field day last week. A friend and I were talking about how when we had field day "back in the day", it was actually all track and field events, hence the name "Field Day". Lots of races like the 50m, 100m, relay, mile, long jump, high jump, etc. etc. etc. Today, it is all about games. Frisbee, field hockey, sponge relays, etc. and only one big race. The younger grades race in a 50m dash and the older kids in a 100m dash. The top three or four finishers in each grade/gender/class race in the final race which is a grade level/gender race. It's a BIG deal. Nobody really cares about anything else, well, except for the popsicles maybe. I didn't take many pictures but here's the run down.
McKenna didn't qualify in her race which is a first for her. She was pretty bummed.
Brooklynn came in second or third I think for her class and finished third overall in the final race.
Lauren tied for second in her class and finished fourth overall in the final race.
And a few pictures that I did take just for good measure!
