We finally squeezed in some time to use the ice skating perk on our POAP
(Pass of All Passes) before they closed for the season. I have been
once before and wasn't a big fan. Especially with small children who
need lots of help. That's hard when you can barely stand up yourself. We
got there right when it opened but still didn't get one of the stand
things to help you skate for Brooklynn. I opted NOT to kill myself
and/or embarrass myself or my kids by skating and told them they were on
their own. They did great. By the end McKenna was even twirling in
circles (shaky, wobbly circles...but circles not the less). Tyler was
such a good sport and helped Brooklynn most of the night. It was a good
trade off. Ice skating was kind of boring for him and he was nervous
about falling so he stuck with Brooklynn to "help" her. About half an
hour before it closed we finally got a stander thing and Brooklynn was
off and running. We didn't leave with too many injuries so I call it a
success. Afterwards we headed to the creamery for ice cream. Apparently
we never do that because they were more excited about that than they
were to go skating!
