We have been playing soccer around here for about the past 8+ years. Last year, I made Brooklynn and McKenna take a break because with football and soccer both in the fall, it was killing me. Last year McKenna did Basketball and Brooklynn did dance but both wanted to start soccer again. The plan was sign them both up again and they were very excited. The closer it got to sign-ups, the more dread I felt. I love soccer and watching the kids play but it is such a commitment and such a crazy schedule. With four games a week and at least two practices, combined with whatever else the other kids are doing it is just too much. I was really regretting my promise to let them play again. However, I noticed that the girls were playing a lot of baseball in the backyard and I knew that their cousins Zack and Braxton had signed up for baseball so I hatched a plan. I asked the girls if they would be interested in playing baseball instead of soccer. They both agreed and were super excited. It has been great so far. Only one practice and game a week per girl and the games are on Saturday mornings so Chris is able to make them. The girls have enjoyed it so far and nobody has brought up soccer again. It has also been fun to try a new sport. Tyler played T-ball when he was about 4 but never had any interest after that. Plus Chris is happy because he always played baseball as a kid and was a bit disappointed Tyler never wanted to. The best part is that Brooklynn and Braxton are on the same team. I tried to get McKenna on Zack's team but it was already full.

Got love young kids and baseball! I loved seeing the kids lying down on the field while Brooklynn swept to 1st base! Ha! Ha! Ha! Funny! Then the kid on 1st base watching McKnna run up to his base and , oh yeah, I better get a move on the 2nd base! Ha! Ha!Ha! Funny! They'll grow up to be major leaguers! :o)
