February Round-Up

February was filled with a few random activities, mostly at school.

Lauren had to create a 3D model of an animal or plant cell. They could use any medium they wanted and so this is what she decided on...an edible cell cake. It was a big hit and she got an "A".

Brooklynn had her Patriotic Readers Theater in conjunction with presidents day. It was a cute program and they all did great. As Brooklynn finishes each program, field trip, readers theater, party, etc., I can't help but get a little teary (most of the time) that this will be my last time with that particular activity. My kids are growing up and this was my last time with 1st Grade.

February was the school's "Read-a-Thon" and with that came lots of fun activities. One of the activities was a dress-up day where the kids came dressed up as their favorite book characters. Brooklynn has been reading LOTS of Fancy Nancy so that was easy. McKenna had just finished reading all the Harry Potter books and was OBSESSED with all things HP. So naturally, she went with Hermoine. They both looked great and got lots of compliments.
