Don't Cry For Me...

So Lauren doesn't even miss us a bit. I called her the 2nd night and she said, "Mom, why do you keep calling me?" The 3rd day I told her I missed her and she didn't say anything. I said, "Lauren, I MISS YOU!!". Finally, she said, "Ok, I miss you too", in that whatever mom voice. Yesterday when I was packing our lunches for our Tuesday, Picnic at the Park Group, I made 6 sandwiches because I forgot I didn't need to make one for Lauren. I almost cried. She is having a really good time which is good for her. She needs some special time but I am missing her like crazy. I don't know how my in-laws all did this when they had to send their kids all the way to Hawaii for a longer period of time in an age that didn't have cellphones and people just didn't pick up the phone and call to Hawaii everyday. I would have gone crazy! Dad probably thinks we are nuts because we call her every day. I also told her the other day that with her gone, our house is not complete without her, something is missing. She said, "Mom, you got that from *Wednesday Wars", in that, come on mom, you are so cheesey, voice. (*Wednesday Wars is the book we read for book club this month and I listened to it on CD with the kids, they LOVED it!!) They did say that in the book, but that isn't where I got it, I thought I was being original until she reminded me. I wasn't TRYING to be corny, I meant it. So anyway, 3 days down, 11 more to go!

Just tuck this story to the side. One day Lauren will be a mother and when she has to send her little Lauren away to camp or to wherever and she is missing her, have her read your little story.
Now the question is...do her siblings miss her???
Love ya!
Mom :o)

I know how you feel. It is so hard to have them gone. And it doesn't matter how old they get, you will still miss them--a lot--when they leave and they will still think you are silly:)for missing them so bad.
