I am way behind on my posting and have lots to post about, but no time to do it. The past few weeks have been a blur. We went to Malad the end of July for the 1 year anniversary of the passing of Chris' mom. Then we headed to Oregon for vacation and to Washington for my little brother's wedding. Then came home and had a frenzied week trying to get the kids ready for school. Tyler celebrated his 10th birthday. I finally finished my living room...as much as I'm going to do right now, I am reading Breaking Dawn...enough said and I still haven't gotten any after pictures of my new haircut, sorry. But none of that is getting blogged about today. Today is all about...THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

I haven't been all that excited for school to start, we had a pretty calm summer all things considered and it flew by. However, the last week before it actually started was horrible. The kids must have sensed change on the wind because they fought CONSTANTLY! So yesterday was a great day. Tyler and Lauren both had their first day of school and McKenna had her Kindergarten assessments so it felt like her first day too. She will start next week on Monday. The kids were all pretty excited and had a great first day. Tyler was bummed though because he had homework on the first day. Both older kids got the teachers we wanted and have great classes. I was worried Tyler's class would be huge but it is ok. Lauren got the huge class but she'll do better than Tyler would. Hopefully McKenna will get the teacher she wanted. She did great on her assessments and even knew a few things we weren't aware of.

I guess 5th grade is where you are supposed to stop taking pictures. Lauren was a good sport and smiled cheerfully but Tyler slumped along the hall and kept asking if we "had" to take his picture. Of course we did and I know a few other 5th graders who felt the same as Tyler.

Now things get crazy. Tyler started football yesterday and both girls have started Soccer as well. Between them we will have 5 games a week and 7 practices. Then throw in Scouts, Piano and Achievement days and we spend a lot of time in the car. Should be fun!
