McKenna Banenna's 6th Birthday!

McKenna saw a ladybug birthday party package in the party magazine we get in the mail and decided that was the kind of party she wanted. After looking at it I asked if I could put together my own ideas for a ladybug party and told her what I had in mind. She liked it and we went together to pick stuff out and put together a much cuter party than the one in the magazine. She was really excited about the ladybug theme and colored several pictures that she wanted hung up at her party for decorations.

I made a little trail of spots to lead back to the party

I decided at the last minute, like last night, to make her a ladybug tutu. It took a lot longer than I had imagined and since it was my first tutu ever, I made a few mistakes that added to the time. In the end I was pleased and thought she looked pretty dang cute. Judge for yourself.

I had leftover invitations from a ladybug party I did for Lauren when she was two so I didn't have to make those. I wanted to keep this party small so she only invited 4 friends and with Brooklynn and McKenna we only had 6. It was very manageable and I'm glad we didn't have more.

When the girls arrived we made ladybug antenna headbands to get into the spirit of things. Then we sang Happy Birthday, had cupcakes, watermelon and bug juice. After we ate we opened presents and then planted some flowers for our ladybugs to live on. After that we played a couple of games and went on a bug hunt. After an unsuccessful bug hunt, we put together a little ladybug habitat and I filled them with live ladybugs.

McKenna loved her party and was pretty happy she planned it and picked everything out. I think they all had fun. Happy Birthday McKenna!!
