Labor Day Weekend

We headed to Malad for Labor Day weekend for a little R&R. It was so nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle of "city life". It is so nice to not have a schedule, no responsibilities, no rules, no bedtimes and lots of playing. It's a nice break from reality. And, Grandpa always spoils everyone! This weekend we seemed to spend a lot of time outdoors and enjoy the simple things. We had fun visiting with Latu, Pene and some of their friends who were camping out at the ranch. We did some 4-wheeling, shot guns, went hiking, watched a great football game, rode some horses and relaxed.

Grandpa took us on a long drive out to the Pumice Mines/Plant that his Stake President owns. We hiked around while the kids searched for pumice stones and Obsidian. When we were done we climbed up the huge piles of crushed pumice and slid down. We saw lots of wildlife along the way and enjoyed the beauty of the land as we drove. It sure was tempting to pack our bags and move to the country. McKenna kept saying it was the "BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE" and keeps asking if we can do everything again the next time we go.

Check you out! Nice shot! =)

We spent a few days in Malad after a whirlwind with Christopher's family and there is just nothing quite like Malad. Love that place and Grandpa - and I'm glad your kids love it so much, too!
