Don't be crazy, Drugs Suck!

Or something like that. It was Red Ribbon week, the drug/alcohol prevention and awareness week where the kids learn about all the reasons they shouldn't do drugs or smoke, etc. Each day is themed and they have activities related to that theme. The overall theme was a superhero theme so Monday you could dress up like a superhero. We passed since Monday's aren't the best for remembering things like that. Tuesday was Hat Day...Lauren and McKenna wore Christmas hats and Brooklynn would have nothing to do with a hat. Wednesday was Red Day and all the girls wore red. Thursday was backward day and again Brooklynn would have nothing to do with wearing her clothes wrong. However, her teacher must have convinced her because when I picked her up her shirt was on backwards. Friday was the favorite "crazy hair day". Each year they look forward to this day and the crazy things they can do to their hair. Some years I get pretty creative and other years I make it up as I go along, like this year. McKenna's was literally a two-minute-before-we-walk-out-the-door-haven't-combed-it-oh-look-we-have-hair-paint-look going on. Mostly because she was told that if she didn't get ready on time I wouldn't have time to do her hair and she wouldn't get crazy hair she'd get bed-head. This was how much time we had. Lauren, she wanted her hair crimped which I told her would take too long and wouldn't really be crazy. She kept going back and forth as I crimped it anyway (top layer only). Then when I started to try and make it crazy, she wouldn't let me touch it so we ended up somewhere in between. Oh well. Brooklynn was the only one who really let me get crazy. Fun times.

How perfectly cute! Brooklynn's much too young to worry about 'being different' in a good way! She'll catch on next year! :o)

What a fun way to get the kids into education! You are such a fun mom, and with 3 girls, that's a lot of prep for the crazy hair day, even if it is a last minute thing for some of them!
